Want a poem? Pick a topic. I will write while you wait. Then, I’ll read you your poem aloud. The process from start to you receiving your poem usually takes about 20-30 minutes.

After your Personalised Poem Experience, you will receive a copy of your poem, via typewriter, and signed by the poet, Molly Ovenden, mailed to the address you provide at time of scheduling and payment.

No worries! 🙂 Molly will spend the first 5 minutes with you to determine the essence of your poem’s topic by asking you personalised and bespoke questions.

What to Expect (a.k.a. How it all works):

1. Purchase a 30-minute Personalized Poem Experience – click here.
2. Schedule your Personalised Poem Experience via this Calendly booking form.
3. Consider what you want your poem to be about.
4. Arrive at least 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time. Be sure to check your camera and audio (microphone and speakers) are working.
5. (First, 0-5 minutes) Molly will open the room at your scheduled time and ask you some questions to discern the topic of your poem.
6. (Second, 5-25 minutes) Molly will draft, write, and type your poem. During this time, she will leave her camera on so you can watch her create, but she will not interact with you so that she can stay in creative flow to honour the process of creating your poem.
7. (Third, 20-30 minutes) Molly will read your poem for you aloud for you to experience it in her voice.
8. After 30 minutes is up, Molly will close the room and (within 7-10 business days) she will email and post (via snail mail) a digital and typewriter typed copy of your poem to the mailing address you provide upon scheduling.

a) Molly Ovenden maintains the copyrights to anything she creates, including your personalised poem. All rights reserved. For permission requests or questions about copyrights, please contact: hello@mollyovenden.com

b) Only one (1) poem can be requested to be written per 30-minute Personalised Poem Experience.

c) Your poem may be included in a collection of poems written by Molly Ovenden, but your name will not be directly associated with your individual poem.

d) Molly Ovenden reserves the right to refuse any topic which she deems inappropriate for herself to write a poem about. (For example: Including, but not limited to that she will not write poems that are overtly political propaganda or graphically violent or sexual.)

e) Molly Ovenden writes poems for individual people. While some poems may include personal pronouns, they do not necessarily reflect Molly’s personal thoughts or views, but instead are intended to relate to either the recipient of the poem or the speaker of the poem.

f) Please arrive early as you won’t be able to have additional time outside your 30 minute experience; other appointments may be immediately after yours.

g) If you need to re-schedule due to an emergency*, you may do so one (1) time free-of-charge, with prior written authorisation and confirmation from Molly Ovenden. If you are unable to make your second attempt, you will not be refunded and you will be required to purchase and schedule a new session. *Poor planning does not constitute an emergency.
